Only 20 minutes to colorful and historic Key West, where the attraction are as diversified as the people. Here are some things to do just for starters:
- Sunset and Street theater everyday prior to sunset...don't be late to enjoy festivities
- Conch Train Tour - to get info on all aspects of the islands history, culture and more
- Fishing - Famous Charter boat row - private to party boat fishing available
- Beaches - on the east side of island and at southern point
- Old Town - shopping and eating to the hearts content
- Boat ride and lunch at Sunset Key ...call for reservation thou
Park and Recreation
- Bahia Honda State Park - 30 min. north on US1
- Fort Jefferson State Park - can arrange for tour out of Key West
- Ft. Zachary State Park - located in Key West (mm0)
- John Penny Camp Coral Reef State Park (mm102.5)
Fishing
- Go north or south on US1 and charters or party boats are available for hire
- Going out on your own boat, talk to the locals as to where the best places to go are at that time
- Don't forget your sunscreen
- Some enjoy fishing from numerous bridges near by
Dining
- Dining galore and here are a few that are close by: Square Grouper(mm22), Mangrove Mama's (mm20) are south on US1 and heading north on US1 are: Galley(mm25), Looe Key Bar and Grill(mm27.5) Boondocks(mm27.5) Parrotdise(mm28) to name a few only. Go exploring....
Diving
- Again go north or south on US 1 and plenty of shops and info on diving.
- To start locals recommend Looe Key about 20 min. north on US1
Kayaking
- Rentals and guided tours available on No Name Key and Summerland, which are just a few that are near by along with more out of Key West
